About Us

Vinotecca opened its doors at Royal Oak’s 417 S. Main Street in 2007, simultaneously opening up a world of wonder when it comes to exploring wine and food inspired from all corners of the globe. The intimate establishment blends a sprawling wine bar with bistro tables, booths where parties mingle and corners where couples hide away. Focused on wine-friendly world cuisine, the dishes range from shareable small plates to elegant but unpretentious, inspired entrees. Each pairs perfectly with wines by the glass or bottle. Vinotecca has earned the distinction of Best Wine Bar by readers of Hour Detroit magazine consistently since 2006. Vinotecca also received Hour’s award for Best Wine List in 2011, and the award for Best Wine Bar in Real Detroit Weekly and the Metro Times in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Our Philosophy

Wine is made from grapes and yet no other libation delivers such a range of complex colors, aromas, and flavors. The presence of this historic and cultural beverage has endured for centuries through religion and tradition. Vinotecca is here to enrich your life through the experience of wine, food and conversation. Be experimental, learn as you savor, and let us bring the charm of wine into your life.

The Design

Vinotecca is designed to reflect every aspect of wine production and lifestyle. Enjoy our mounted soil boxes, earthy slate tile, stainless steel, and cork accents that we use for education as well as ambience.

So, welcome to the “wine room” where you eat, drink, shop, and experience the world of wine.
